Make the trek out to Olson Mansion in Maple Valley for the penultimate event of our 2023 Wednesday Evening Series on Wednesday, August 9th, with starts 5-7 pm. Preregistration and volunteering will be open until 9pm on the 8th, and further event and course info can be found on the event page!

Junior Nationals, of course! Having honed their skills at the Winter League Championships at Camp River Ranch (site of this photo), some 45 Cascaders, most of them juniors, will make their way toward the nation’s capital this weekend to compete in the most important event of the year geared toward the younger age groups. At the recently concluded 2018 North American Orienteering Championships, CascadeOC members Eric Bone, Tori Borish, Kelsey Breseman, Siri Christopherson, Tyra Christopherson, Jessica Colleran, Will Enger, Peteris Ledins, and Kai Mihata helped Team USA defeat Team Canada in both the senior and junior competitions. The biennial North American Orienteering Championships (NAOC) are always the most momentous orienteering event on the calendar, on the whole continent. This year, NAOC is being held in and around Whitehorse, Yukon from August 17-21, and is also being coupled with the subsequent Canadian Orienteering Championships (August 21-24) for a full week of excellent orienteering. The time grows near for Cascade’s 2018 Wednesday Evening Series to begin! This year we have a record six (!) events on the schedule, all taking place in and around the Seattle area: May 23 – Lake Wilderness Park; June 6 – North Seattle College; June 27 – Big Finn Hill Park; July 18 – Forest Park; Aug. 15 – Seattle Pacific University; Sept. 5 – South Seattle College.
