The two most important things for a good orienteering race are a good map, and a good course design on that map. Think a good course can be made by simply drawing circles on the map? Not likely:). This two hour class on course design by David Tallent will lead you through some of the thoughts and techniques of creating courses that will keep orienteers of all ages and skills engaged from the start to the finish of a race.
Price is $0 and sign up is easy; simply RSVP by emailing soonerjcb@gmail.com. You will get a zoom link with the password emailed back to you. Information will also be posted to the COC message board.
The only real requirement to be successful in this class is the ability to use Purple Pen. It just so happens we have a Purple Pen class 2 weeks prior. Feel free to sign up for that too:).
Those who attend, will hopefully feel emboldened to dip their toe into course design at one of the yearly series. CascadeOC is YOUR club!
