This year’s Marmot O’ Cup will wrap up the Ultimate Orienteer season (and begin the 2026 Pacific Northwest Orienteering Festival) with two excellent days of orienteering:

  • Day 1 at Moses Lake Sand Dunes
  • Day 2 at Fisk State Park near Spokane

This will be preceded by a bonus warmup event at Quincy Lakes near George.

To make the weekend even more special, we’ll be hosting two National Ranking Events (NREs)!

Stick around for more orienteering fun, as PNWOF2026 continues in Spokane and Oregon! Sign up for the whole festival or pick your race(s).

Ultimate Orienteer Series

The two NREs are the final two events in this year’s Ultimate Orienteer SeriesIf you want to vie for Ultimate points, please note the following exceptions to the standard Ultimate class/course allocations.

  • F50+ is assigned to the Green course. That means if you are between 55 and 59, you must compete in one of the following NRE classes on Green: F50+ or F Green.
  • O60+ is assigned to the Green course. That means if you are between 65 and 69, you must compete in one of the following NRE classes on Green: M50+, M55+, M60+, M Green, or Green Rec.

Volunteer

These are major events for our club and we will need a lot of volunteers to make them successful. Please take a look at the available positions and consider helping in whatever way you can. Thanks in advance for helping!

Volunteer signup links will be posted by March 1.

Terrain/Maps

  • Quincy Lakes South (1:10,000, 5m contour interval) – Open scablands with few trees and abundant rock features.
  • Moses Lake Sand Dunes (1:10,000, 5m contour interval, printed at 1:7,500 for all courses) – Subtle contours, open terrain, and few trails provide ample opportunity for parallel errors. Marshes and other water features are abundant at Moses Lake as well, making navigation challenging.
  • Fisk State Park (1:10,000, 5m contour interval, printed at 1:4,000 for all courses) – Open pine forest with isolated areas of very detailed rock features.

All maps have been used for previous events. You can view courses from previous events on RouteGadget and/or Livelox.

Embargo

To ensure competitive fairness and in accordance with OUSA rules, the race venues are embargoed until the competition, i.e. anyone wishing to be eligible for competitive awards may not enter Moses Lake Sand Dunes or Fisk State Park (except the parking area, designated model area, and entry road) from February 1 until the event.
