Next up for Ultimate Orienteer – Freestyle in Putney Woods on April 19

The Ultimate events are coming at us fast and furiously. The next event will be held on Saturday April 19 at Putney Wood on Whidbey Island. On most orienteering courses, you have to visit the controls on your course in a designated order. On a freestyle course, you must still punch all controls on your course but you choose the order. It may pay off to spend a little bit of time after your start to plan your route and make sure that you haven’t missed that last control way out in the middle of nowhere. There is no set max time for this event, but course closure is at 2:30 pm so pick an earlier start time in the start window 9:30-11:30 am to make sure that you have enough time to finish your course.
