Permanent Course Available

Celebration Park is a relatively small park, consisting of a long, narrow section, a wooded and hilly section, and open ball fields. It is sometimes used as a cross-country venue, and the middle part offers some navigational challenges.

The permanent orienteering courses at Celebration Park were designed and installed as a Boy Scout Eagle Award Service Project by Justin Allmaras, Boy Scout Troop 336.

The purpose of providing these navigational and physical ratings below is to provide greater context for how challenging an orienteering course at this venue might be. For example, an advanced-level course at a local city park will be easier to complete than an advanced-level course in the mountains.

Navigational Challenge Rating: 2

With navigation consisting of a linear trail, a center ring trail and connections to the outside of the park, it’s hard to get lost here. But with a more updated map, this can be used as an introductory sprint venue.

Physical Challenge Rating: 4

The hilly, wooded section definitely has its share of contour lines. And since this is where the navigation is, you’ll be doing your share of up and down navigation.
